The Cobb County Police Department is dedicated to continuing to build safer communities and improving “Quality of Life” for all citizens by creating and maintaining community and business partnerships based on trust, transparency and mutual respect, while integrating these partnerships with the skill and knowledge of personnel, and their commitment to the departments law enforcement mission.

Chief Cox has been a Cobb County resident for over 50 years and graduated from Marietta Christian High School in Marietta, Georgia in 1981.  He attended Kennesaw College and began his career with the Cobb County Police Department in 1985.  During Chief Cox's tenure with the Cobb County Police Department, he has served assignments in the Uniform Patrol Division and the Special Operations Division as an officer, sergeant, and lieutenant.  He has also served as the Adjutant to the Police Chief and two Deputy Police Chiefs and the commander of the Administrative Division of the department.  Prior to his assignment as Chief, he served as a commander of Precinct 4, Precinct 5 and the Organized Crime Unit.  In 2013, he was promoted to the rank of Deputy Chief of Police and assigned to the Support Operations Division.  In 2019, Cox was promoted to Chief of Police.

The East Cobb Business Association is pleased to announce that we are now accepting nominations for the 2019 East Cobb Business Person of the Year Award. 
Each year ECBA recognizes one individual who has made a significant impact on the East Cobb community and contributed in a meaningful way to the Association’s success.


East Cobb Business Association Members
contribute significantly to the vitality of our local community and the health of our economy. 
Now it is time to recognize them!

Please nominate individuals you believe deserve recognition. 
Any East Cobb Business Association member in good standing (excluding ECBA Board Members) may be nominated, and self-nominations are welcome. 
Nominees will be contacted and invited to complete an award submission.


The 2019 Business Person of the Year will be celebrated
at ECBA’s November luncheon and recognized throughout the year on the ECBA website and in social media. He/she will receive a complementary ECBA membership for 2020. In addition, Cynthia Rosso, owner of the East Cobber magazines and winner of the 2018 East Cobb Business Association’s Business Person of the Year Award, will feature the 2019 winner in the January issue of the East Cobber and honor him/her during the September 2020 East Cobber Parade.
